Our story Born in 2007 as a small group of gnarly snowboarders worried about climate change, POW is now the leading voice of the outdoor community on climate action. Weʼre a global network of over 150,000 supporters and 200 athlete ambassadors from all corners of the outdoor community: from resorts, brand partners, pro athletes and scientists to passionate outdoor enthusiasts. POW imagines a world where communities come together to protect the outdoors, enjoying what nature offers while ensuring its resilience for future generations. We believe the best way to create this world is to educate, collaborate, and advocate for climate action. Our approach POW uses the love and passion found in outdoor sports to help brands, organisations and individuals become impactful climate advocates. Not simply to protect the snow we ride on from melting, the forests we run through from burning, the cliffs we climb on from crumbling, or the river we paddle down from drying up; but to create a climate-friendly society where thereʼs social justice and respect for all living things. POW turns passion into purpose. Our structure POW Europe is made up of ten national chapters, each working to mobilise the outdoor community for climate action while uniting under a shared mission. From the Arctic to the Alps and the Pyrenees to the North Sea, our chapters represent diverse landscapes and cultures—all connected by a passion for the outdoors and a commitment to protecting it.
