Athens to Host 2026 UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum

23 January 2026

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the City of Athens have officially announced the themes and opened registrations for the 2026 UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum, which will take place in the Greek capital on 10–11 May 2026. The event will mark the eighth edition of the UCI’s flagship annual conference dedicated to sustainable and active mobility.

Athens to Host 2026 UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum

Since its launch in 2018, the Forum has become a key international platform for mobility leaders, cycling advocates, National Federation representatives, public authorities and industry experts to exchange ideas and share best practice on the future of cycling and active transport. The UCI continues to position the Forum as a cornerstone of its wider commitment to advancing cycling’s role within the global sustainable development agenda.

An Interactive Start in the Greek Capital

The 2026 Forum will open on Sunday 10 May with a programme of interactive activities designed to showcase Athens’ growing commitment to cycling and sustainable urban mobility. Delegates will be invited to engage directly with local initiatives through a series of community-focused events, including:

  • A community bike parade, aimed at promoting cycling participation across the city
  • Thematic bike tours, highlighting urban development and mobility projects
  • The opportunity to witness the finish of the ΔΕΗ Tour of Hellas in Athens city centre

The first day will conclude with an official dinner, during which the 2026 UCI Cycling for All & Sustainability Awards will be presented.

Shaping the Future of Global Cycling

The main conference will take place on Monday 11 May, featuring a full programme of panel discussions, case studies, expert presentations and networking opportunities. The agenda will focus on four core themes central to the development of cycling worldwide:

  • Sport tourism and the long-term legacy of cycling events
  • The continued growth of cycling tourism
  • City-led strategies for cycling promotion
  • Global road safety initiatives

Together, these themes reflect the UCI’s strategic ambition to develop cycling not only as a competitive sport, but also as a mainstream, sustainable mode of transport.

An Inspiring Setting for Sustainable Mobility

Organised in collaboration with Kyvernitis Travel Group and the City of Athens, the Forum will be hosted in a city that combines deep sporting heritage with a forward-looking approach to sustainable mobility. As Athens continues to expand its cycling infrastructure and promote active travel, the event will offer delegates a first-hand opportunity to explore how major cities can accelerate change through cycling-led strategies.

The UCI has emphasised that the Forum is designed to help participants explore how cycling can support healthier, more sustainable and more inclusive communities, in line with its ongoing commitment to advancing active mobility worldwide.

Registration Now Open

Registrations for the 2026 UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum are now open, with participation free of charge. Delegates are invited to secure their place via the official UCI registration platform.

Further details, including confirmation of the venue and the full list of speakers, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. For additional information, the UCI can be contacted directly at cyclingforall@uci.ch.
