Session 1 – Introduction to the GSSport24 Programme
Mike Laflin, CEO and Founder of GSS, introduces the concept behind GSSport24 and the Summer Workshop Series.
Session 2 – The GSS Educational Programme
Nico Decurtins, Founder, The Sustainability Coach, and Daniel Cade, Consultant Educator, Responsible Sport, introduce the GSS Educational programme.
Session 3 – Sports for Nature – Canada 30×30
Leanna Carriere (Canada’s first female decathlete) and Dr. Timm Döbert (global change scientist and explorer) explain the concept behind the Wings of Survival expedition, a 30,000km cycling traverse of the Americas from Alaska to Patagonia, is to inspire, enable, and empower people – youths in particular – to conserve, restore, and rewild 30% of nature by 2030, in accordance with the United Nations 30×30 call for planetary action. To this end, we are pioneering a storyline that uniquely bridges human adventure, extreme sports, natural history, and scientific exploration – and migratory birds are at the heart of this endeavour.
Session 4 – Understanding and Capturing the True Sustainable Value of Sport
Mike Laflin presents the research and planning that Global Sustainable Sport have undertaken over the last two years to develop the 7 Sustainable pillars of Sport and the Champions of Sustainability programme.
