United and DHL deliver community champions campaign
English Premier League football club Manchester United and logistics provider DHL have marked an extension of their commercial partnership by launching a new initiative that will highlight the role of community heroes.
Nominations of individuals who have made a difference – whether through volunteering for worthy causes or inspiring positive change through grassroots initiatives – will be entered into a ‘United for One Goal’ recognition programme.
Rewards for those who are selected will include signed club merchandise, tickets for games at Old Trafford, and a unique opportunity to play on the stadium’s famous pitch.
The two parties said that the aim of the campaign will be to ‘help achieve a more socially responsible, sustainable world’ by recognising those who ‘share the partnership values of sustainability, teamwork, high-performance and efficiency’.
United’s partnership with DHL, which began in 2011, will now run until 2027.
United’s CEO, Omar Berrada, said: “We share many years of positive impactful work, and this will continue globally through ‘United for One Goal’. The longevity of the partnership is down to our shared values and our ambitions to use our global influence to drive positive change in local communities.”
The club already runs a number of community projects through its Foundation spanning girls’ football development, education and employability and disability and inclusion. The Foundation is also a partner of eight special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) schools.
