Tottenham Hotspur utilises more sustainable turf option
English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur has brought in Citygreen Sports Group as its official synthetic turf supplier for the 2024-25 season, with a focus on implementing a sustainable option.
The club will work with Citygreen to install a new synthetic pitch at its Enfield Training Centre, providing an environmentally friendly surface that will also support player development and improve the quality of sessions.
Citygreen is an artificial turf manufacturer and specialises in developing sustainable spaces. The company uses fully recyclable synthetic turf, and complies with the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) by reducing waste and resource use.
Spurs’ new turf pitch will be utilised by the men’s and women’s academy teams, as well as community events.
“It is fantastic to be working with Citygreen for the forthcoming season as we look to further enhance the facilities at our world-class Training Centre,”commented Paul May, Training Centre Director of Operations.
“This partnership will help the development of players that visit the campus throughout the year, as well as aligning with our mission to reduce our environmental impact across club activities.”

Tottenham has worked to implement a number of sustainable initiatives across the club. It utilises 100% certified renewable electricity across all its sites; sends zero waste to landfill; has eliminated single-use plastic water bottles; made sure all food is sourced within a 60-mile radius of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium; and the players have also received training around sustainability.
More recently, Spurs achieved certification by BSI to ISO 20121, a standard for sustainable event management.
