Sustainability round-up: April 27
This week’s sustainability round-up includes San Francisco Giants’ environmental efforts; FIFA’s new green partnership; Formula E’s biodiversity push and Arsenal’s inclusivity.
Major League Baseball (MLB) has named San Francisco Giants as the recipient of the 2022 ‘Green Glove Award’. It is the 13th time the club has been awarded the accolade – more times than any other club. The accolade rewards a team’s efforts to continue to highlight environmental awareness and sustainability across ballparks, offices, homes and beyond.
FIFA has revealed Team Global Express as the official logistic services provider in Australia and New Zealand for the Women’s World Cup 2023. Team Global Express recently announced a partnership to deliver Australia’s largest heavy electric vehicle fleet.
In the lead-up to the 2023 SABIC Berlin E-Prix double-header, drivers from Maserati MSG Racing, Avalanche Andretti Formula E, NIO 333 Racing and Mahindra Racing helped to fill planters in raised beds with herbs and flowers as part of Earth Day 2023 celebrations. The activity raised awareness through Earth Day’s Canopy Project to increase biodiversity.
Arsenal’s recent Premier League match against title rival Manchester City featured British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters, with BSL now fully integrated in the matchday experience at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal initially trialled BSL for the game against Newcastle in January and subsequent matches.
