Sports star backs sustainable packaging start-up
Former National Basketball Association (NBA) player Tony Parker (pictured) has invested in packaging company Flycup, which is aiming to improve the spectator consumption experience, while also decarbonising the event catering sector.
Flycup founder Olivier Rousseau took his idea to a television programme focused on start-ups and investment, with Park eventually agreeing to back the company.
The company offers sustainable nomadic packaging solutions, and already works with a number of sports clients including Paris Saint Germain, Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais and the Stade de France.
“Tony Parker can bring his entrepreneurial spirit, his address book as well as a perspective of international development to Flycup,” commented Rousseau.
Additionally, in line with anti-waste law for a circular economy (AGEC) in France, a range of reusable and washable Flycup solutions are set to launch.
