Red Bull Ring awarded FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme certification
Austria’s Red Bull Ring has been awarded the Three-Star Level Best Practice certification from the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme.
The racetrack was awarded the certification by motorsport’s governing body after demonstrating best practice and a commitment to continuous improvement in the form of an environmental management system.
The FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme guidelines are based on recognised standards such as ISO 14001.
Erich Wolf, General Manager of the Red Bull Ring, said: “Environmental protection, careful use of resources and responsible management are central prerequisites for a sustainable society. This includes the reduction and avoidance of environmental pollution such as excessive energy and water consumption, emissions and waste.”

Since 2014, operators of the Red Bull Ring have been promoting the slogan ‘Nimm’s Radl’ (Come by bike), which was then further built on with the introduction of ‘Nimm’s Shuttle’ (Come by shuttle bus) in 2022.
This year’s Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix will see fans have the option of attending the race weekend via a long-distance shuttle service with more than 170 pick-up points in six different provinces.
The option to travel by bus, train or bike will not only help to reduce CO2 emissions, but also help to prevent traffic congestion.
