Arctos to support programme backed by OVG, Hawks
The GOAL sustainability programme, which features the National Hockey League’s (NHL's) Atlanta Hawks, has teamed up with Arctos Partners to take climate action.
GOAL, founded by live events venue operator Oak View Group, consists of a number of sports and entertainment enterprises, and teams.
Arctos, a private investment firm, will provide proprietary data and insights as part of the collaboration.
Arctos will seek to onboard several of its franchise partners to the GOAL platform, including teams such as Major League Baseball’s (MLB’s) Los Angeles Dodgers and the platform’s first Minor League Baseball team, the Sacramento River Cats.
MLB’s Chicago Cubs, and the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and New Jersey Devils are just some of the other Arctos portfolio teams that have joined GOAL over the last year, in addition to founding partner Fenway Sports Group.
“Arctos believes in the importance of driving sustainability efforts in the sports industry."
Jordan Solomon, Partner at Arctos Partners, said: “Arctos believes in the importance of driving sustainability efforts in the sports industry and a data science-driven approach is critical to establishing and measuring best practices.
“GOAL is an ideal platform to advance this effort alongside Oak View Group and our professional sports franchise partners, while also enhancing performance across a network of world-class venues.”
Chris Granger, president, OVG360 (a division of Oak View Group), said: “We are pleased to welcome Arctos Partners and their member teams to the GOAL community, and we applaud them for their commitment to work together to achieve our sustainability objectives.”
